CENGAGE WILL SAVE YOU MONEY AND TIME

Students come first at CCBC!

Knowing that the cost of course materials often puts a financial burden on you, CCBC has partnered with Cengage to provide textbooks through a digital book subscription. Beginning Fall 2019, students enrolled in a Cengage Unlimited book subscription will gain electronic access from any device on day one of the semester for the affordable price of $179.99 for the whole year (most required course materials do apply). You will also have unlimited access to other materials and resources in their library.

Plus, not only are such solutions more affordable than buying traditional textbooks, they also offer more interactive, exciting, and engaging educational experiences.

Access your digital materials any time, anywhere, and get ready to succeed!

WHAT BENEFITS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH CENGAGE UNLIMITED

Through this initiative, students have access to course materials on day one; no more sold-out bookstores! Students also notice lower costs, additional (and usually free) resources, no access codes, Fee is paid for materials at the time of registration (shows up as a “digital books and materials fee on bills and receipts).

If you perfer a paper copy of your text, you can rent one from Cengage for only $7.99

*All Cengage Unlimited materials are made available for the first day of class unless you are requesting a paper version. Please allow up to two weeks delivery for these assets.

HOW DO I PAY?

CCBC has made the process simple. When you register for classes, you will notice a "Digital Text & Materials" fee. A one time charge per academic year of $179.99 is added to your bill. Once your tuition and fees are paid, you will have access to all of the Cengage supported materials.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR BOOKS ARE INCLUDED?

Please review your course schedule carefully. In the E-Book column, look for a “Y,” or an “N,”  which indicates whether or not your class materials are covered by this fee and provided through Cengage. If an “N” is displayed, please visit the campus’s Barnes & Noble Bookstore to purchase your book. Visit ccbc.edu/Cengage for information.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ANY CENGAGE COURSES?

CCBC’s partnership with Cengage Unlimited covers over 85% of CCBC’s general education courses, and will approach nearly 100% coverage by Spring 2020. The $179.99 annual fee provides tremendous value to all CCBC students who would normally spend several hundred dollars on textbooks in an academic year. However, we understand that there may be some students who may not take a class covered by Cengage Unlimited over the course of their academic year. For those students there is a waiver process that can be initiated by emailing register@ccbc.edu. Someone from the student records team will be in touch with those students who feel they qualify for a waiver.
