Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Bullie and John Gates to the CCBC Foundation Board of Directors. As part of their new roles, Bullie and Gates will join the board comprising volunteer business and community leaders who support the strategic plan and advancement of the college.

A 1971 CCBC graduate, Bullie currently serves as the president and CEO of Jay Bullie Insurance Agency in Cranberry Township, Pa. His career includes a tenure at PPG with a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, such as his most recent role of senior financial analyst for international operations. In addition to his CCBC associate degree, Bullie holds a bachelor of science degree from The Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Gates is a 2019 CCBC graduate and 2018 scholarship recipient. A lifelong Beaver County resident, Gates earned his associate degree in specialized studies following a robust career in the real estate industry. He currently serves as a real estate agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

“The CCBC Foundation Board is charged with enhancing the educational environment and creating new opportunities for CCBC students, faculty and staff through philanthropy,” said Kolton Codner, Executive Director of the Foundation. “The Board has set a goal this year to diversify our membership and the appointments of Mr. Bullie and Mr. Gates are excellent additions as passionate CCBC advocates who will positively give back to their alma mater and impact our current students.”

“CCBC gave me a strong foundation, which allowed me to learn fast as I transferred to IUP, prepared for my first job at PPG, and, ultimately, achieved the success I have throughout my career,” said Bullie. “I have a desire to serve on the CCBC Foundation Board as a way to give back to the community where I received so much.”

This past academic year witnessed historic fund acquisition for CCBC and the CCBC Foundation achieving record levels of extramural support and helping advance critical initiatives with regional impact. The CCBC Foundation has raised more than $5,000,000 of support over the past two year and is poised to continue record-breaking fundraising to ensure the community has access to life-changing educational experience at CCBC.

Bullie and Gates were presented to the board and initiated their duties following the monthly Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 19, 2019.
