Prerequisites:  Valid Driver’s License, Must supply own steel-toed work boots

This program will prepare students for entry level welding jobs in industrial/manufacturing settings, fabrication shops, and entry into construction-related welding positions.  In Pennsylvania, welders, cutters, and fitters have been on the High Priority Occupations (HPO) demand list since 2012 until present according to the PA Department of Labor & Industry.  This course will allow students to advance at their own individual pace.  The processes covered will include beginning Gas Metal Arc (Mig) and Flux Cored Arc Welding in various positions. Students will learn safe welding practices, PPE, operations and troubleshooting of semi-automatic equipment, welding terminology, and welding symbols.  Students will be prepared to test for two widely recognized industry welding certifications.
