Emergency Medical Services

Since 1974, the Community College of Beaver County has offered Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training. Accredited by the PA Department of Health, the EMS Department offers a:

  • central location in Beaver County
  • fully equipped training lab
  • well-qualified, experienced instructional staff
  • dedicated learning facility

Emergency Medical Technician image

REGISTER NOW!

Our Emergency Medical Technician course provides entry-level certification for those interested in obtaining employment in Emergency Medical Services. The program follows the National Registry curriculum. Topics covered include: patient assessment, basic cardiac life support, trauma care, burn care, scene safety, Basic Haz-Mat Incident Command (ICS), and EVOC certification (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course).

Successful completion results in Pennsylvania Department of Health Certification and is the basis for reciprocity and eligibility for National Registry EMT-B testing.

Tuesday and Thursday evenings
$475 Tuition

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Additional time outside of the classroom is required:
Mandatory ambulance ride-a-longs.
3 online certifications, approximately 2 hours for each.
1 Saturday per month, dates TBD

EMT Refresher Class
24 Hour NREMT Certification Requirement

24-Hour EMT Refresher

Tues. & Thur. 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. PUBS12901 $95
The EMT Refresher 24 course is designed for the National Registered EMT to fullfill his or her NREMT requirements for a 24 hour EMT refresher class every 2 years.  Each student must attend every night to receive EMT Refresher Certification.

This course covers a wide range of topics as set forth by the NREMT Council. These individual courses cover a wide range of topics including Safety/Security, Trauma, Well Being of the EMT, and OB/Infants. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate to that may be submitted to NREMT. Whether your NREMT certification renewal is due this March 31, 2016 or March 31, 2017, now is the time to sign up

There are no extensions from NREMT, so sign up now!

Police Academy

The Police Academy is committed to training all persons aspiring to obtain the Act 120 required training to be certified as a police officer in Pennsylvania and to also provide Act 180 Mandatory–In-Service Training for all active duty police officers.
