6.06.002 - Employee Tuition Benefits

The Board of Trustees is committed to providing access to educational opportunities to employees of the College.  The benefit programs will be structured in two forms.

Tuition Waiver

Full time employees of the College, their spouses, and dependents as defined by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) shall be eligible for a full tuition waiver for enrollment in either credit or non-credit courses offered by the College. This policy only covers the tuition expense. Al other fees are the responsibility of the individual employee.

Part-time employees shall also be given the opportunity to earn credit applied to tuition waivers. Under this program, the individual enrolling shall be responsible for all costs other than tuition associated with her/his enrollment

External Tuition Benefit

The Board believes that providing access to educational opportunities leading to completion of college degrees for its employees benefits the institution.  In support of this belief, the Board directs the College President to create a tuition benefit program for its full-time employees.

The programs available for members of the faculty and of the support staff are contained in the collective bargaining agreements between the College and the respective employee associations.  For confidential and administrative employees, the program will be delineated through appropriate procedural guidelines.
