It is the intent of the Board of Trustees that the programs of the College be responsive to the needs of students and the community and focus on providing a quality educational experience.  To this end and consistent with the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Board directs the President to develop and implement procedures ensuring the viability and quality of the programs provided.

In designing the evaluation process, the procedures are to require a formal evaluation of all instructional programs at least every five years.  The information evaluated should enable the Board to make informed decisions regarding the maintenance, enhancement, restructuring, and retention of programs.  The factors to be included in the evaluation process include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Level of student interest;
  • Actual student enrollments;
  • Student progress and retention to graduation;
  • Rates of transfer, as applicable;
  • Potential for employment and rates of employment;
  • Student satisfaction;
  • Employer satisfaction;
  • Success of students upon transfer;
  • Partnerships with school districts, business, and the community;
  • Effective use of fiscal and physical resources, and
  • Other measures as may be deemed appropriate.

The results of the program evaluation process are to be shared with the Board annually as determined by the Board Planning Calendar.
