Monaca, PA – The Beaver County Energy & Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (EAMP) is hosting its Pathways Career Awareness at Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) on Thursday, October 20 from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for all Beaver County public and private school districts.

Students, parents, teachers, and guidance counselors can all experience first-hand career opportunities in the region’s manufacturing and construction industries, and the training it takes to get these jobs, through panel discussions, interactive displays, and educational exhibitors.

“Attending this event is the best way for students, teachers, and administrators to meet area employers and learn about today and tomorrow’s STEM-focused jobs,” said John Goberish, Dean of the School of Industrial Technology and Continuing Education.

In 2014, Beaver County EAMP formed between business, industry, and education to influence the pursuit of High Priority Occupations (HPO) in the energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. The goal of the Partnership is to ensure students gain a clear understanding of these career pathways along with skill sets and credentials needed for success.

“EAMP plays a vital role in helping to align parents, students, and educators with current and future career options, and it gives employers a place to prepare the employees of the future, said Donna Lee Siple, President of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.

The Partnership’s goals are to:

  • Create student and school awareness for post-high school opportunities
  • Provide channels for employers to communicate job skills
  • Help build relationships between the education community, business, and industry

The Beaver County Energy & Advanced Manufacturing Partnership is currently supported by several organizations, including the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce; Job Training for Beaver County, Inc.; Community College of Beaver County; Beaver County Career & Technical Center; Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit; Junior Achievement of Western PA; and 19 vendors representing a variety of EAMP related fields. Sponsors include Range Resources; Shell Polymers; Peoples Gas; Penn State University (Beaver Campus), and Stryopek.
