Academic Coaches
The Student Success Center is located on the upper level of the Learning Resources Center and provides professional Academic Coaches in various subject areas as well as BrainFuse Online Tutoring. Our Academic Coaches are available for one-on-one individualized instruction by appointment, group sessions, drop-in hours, and classroom collaboration with faculty. Along with Math, Accounting, English, and Science, the Student Success Center can also assist with the following:
- Time Management
- Effective Note-taking
- Study Techniques
- Test Preparation
- Reinforcement of classwork
- The Writing Process
- Editing Guidance
- The Research Paper (research, organization, documentation)
- Reviewing items missed on exams
- Refreshing topics from previous classes
In addition to the Academic Coaches, the Student Success Center also houses the Student Success Lab with PC workstations and a Computer Technology Coach. For more information on the Student Success Lab, click on its link under “Related Pages.”
Coaches are available at no cost for CCBC students. Additional assistance for students with limited English proficiency is also obtainable upon request and by going to the English as a Second Language area under “Related Pages.”

To schedule a free appointment with an Academic Coach, please use TracCloud sign in using your CCBC username and password, and follow the instructions. A student manual and training video also help guide you through this easy process.

Brainfuse Online Tutoring
Brainfuse Online Tutoring provides a remote option for students who are unable to come to the Student Success Center during posted hours.
A link to the service has been placed on each student’s Blackboard account. Students can click on “Brainfuse Online Tutor” on the left side of their course; click the “Brainfuse HelpNow” button; then click on the icon that represents the area of the site they wish to enter (i.e., Live Help, Writing Lab, etc.).
Students do not have to be on campus to reach Brainfuse. This service is available 24/7 and can be accessed from home or any CCBC student computer.
