Federal VA Education Benefits (Chapters 30, 31, 33, 35, and 1606): all active duty military, veterans, spouses, or dependents eligible to receive federal VA benefits must apply online at Manage Education Benefits – VA/DoD eBenefits.

- If you have previously attended another institution, also submit the Change of Program/Place of Training Form.
Tuition Assistance
This is a Department of Defense (DoD) program. TA rules and processes vary between military branches. Service members must receive approval from an Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within military service before enrolling. Service members should submit their approval to the Military and Veteran Liaison.
National Guard Education Assistance Program (EAP) & National Guard Military Family Education Program (MFEP)
This program is offered through the PA National Guard and is administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). To apply, guard members should meet with the Education Services Office at their unit. CCBC will then receive notification from PHEAA regarding your eligibility.

In addition to using your military benefits, you should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.studentaid.gov. The school code for CCBC is 006807. Policy for Return of Unearned Tuition Assistance Funding
To comply with the new Department of Defense policy, The Community College of Beaver County will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through the 60% portion of the term for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based on when a student stops attending. These funds are returned to the military service branch, and may create a balance due on the student’s account as the amount returned to TA may be different than the amount of tuition and fees charged.
