Monaca, PA – The Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) Foundation has welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors: Aubrey Plane, Pamela M. Johnson, Dr. Joseph A. Guarino, and Paul Duty. Each brings a unique combination of professional experience, community leadership, and connection to CCBC and its mission of expanding opportunities for students.
“Our new board members bring strong leadership and a deep commitment to our community to the CCBC Foundation,” said Dr. Andrew Winner, Associate Vice President of Advancement. “They represent a diverse cross-section of the Beaver Valley, including CCBC alumni, community and educational leaders, healthcare professionals and aviation professionals. Their perspectives and commitment will strengthen our work to advance the Foundation’s mission and create opportunities for CCBC students.”
Aubrey Plane is a proud CCBC graduate and currently serves as a Business Development Manager at BELFOR Restoration. A dedicated community advocate, Plane remains actively involved in the region through her service with organizations including the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce and Women in Healthcare-Western PA. In addition to her degree from CCBC, she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida.
Pamela M. Johnson, RN, BSN, is a retired hospice nurse with 47 years of experience in clinical care and administration. Johnson previously served for 10 years as a trustee for CCBC and the residents of Beaver County, including serving as Chairperson of the Board during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. A proud CCBC alumna, Johnson continues to serve her community through volunteering with the Caring Ministry of Grace Community Church. In retirement, she enjoys gardening, golf, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dr. Joseph A. Guarino currently serves as Superintendent of the New Brighton Area School District and, beginning July 1, will serve as Superintendent of both the New Brighton Area School District and Rochester Area School District through a shared superintendent model. Guarino has spent more than 23 years with the New Brighton Area School District, beginning his career there as a teacher before becoming principal of New Brighton Middle School. Prior to joining New Brighton, he participated in Teach For America and began his teaching career as a high school biology teacher in the Baltimore City Public School System. He holds a doctorate and advanced degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. Guarino and his wife are active members of their community and are involved in the lives of their three children.
Paul Duty is an airline captain with American Airlines’ regional carrier Envoy Air, a current flight instructor and an aviation curriculum developer with more than 20 years of experience in aviation training and leadership. A 2002 graduate of CCBC’s Professional Pilot program, Duty credits CCBC with launching a career spanning flight instruction, corporate aviation, flight simulator development, STEM education initiatives, aviation training management and airline operations. He also serves as Director of Flight Operations for the College of Missionary Aviation and has held leadership positions with aviation curriculum providers including Gold Seal Ground School, Gleim Aviation and MzeroA. Duty is passionate about developing the next generation of aviation professionals and supporting the continued growth of CCBC.
The CCBC Foundation supports the College by providing resources and opportunities that enhance the student experience, strengthen academic programs, and help students achieve their educational and career goals. Through community partnerships, philanthropy and advocacy, the Foundation helps CCBC continue to serve as an educational and economic resource for the region.
The addition of Plane, Johnson, Guarino and Duty strengthens the Foundation’s board with expertise spanning business, healthcare, education, aviation and community service while bringing valuable perspectives from both CCBC alumni and community leaders.
