The Program

The CCBC STEM Academy is for high school students in grades 11 and 12, at participating high schools, who are interested in a career in the Engineering, Computer Science and Cybersecurity fields. Students have opportunities to explore careers in these fields and receive hands-on STEM instruction from college faculty members in labs and classroom environments while acquiring critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, students who devote two years of study to the program will have the opportunity to graduate from high school with up to 28 college credits toward CCBC’s associate degree program or transfer the credits to other colleges and universities.

We are currently offering STEM Academy courses in a flexible model. Students can choose to either attend in person at a specified location or attend class online live each day from school or home. Our in-person site is as follows:

CCBC Main Campus- 1 Campus Drive, Monaca, PA 15061

Students in the STEM Academy will:

  • Learn from experienced faculty and study our industry-designed and approved curriculum
  • Continue your studies toward an associate degree in an engineering, computer science, or cybersecurity pathway
  • Get job-ready for high-demand, well-paying jobs coming to Beaver County and the surrounding regions

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Students may enroll during their junior or senior year
  • Minimum 3.0 High School GPA
  • Recommendation from the principal or  school counselor
  • Exhibit good attendance and conduct
