CCBC’s Washington County College Center Offers ADN (RN) to LRN to ADN (RN) Programs

Monaca, PA — The Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to announce that the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing has officially approved the College’s request to expand its Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program—including both the full traditional ADN (RN) and the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to ADN (RN) transition track—to its Washington County College Center.

With this milestone approval, CCBC is now set to welcome its first cohort of nursing students to the Washington site starting Fall 2026. The Center will also enroll approximately 7 LPN to ADN students this fall and anticipates additional enrollment in the spring semester.

“This is a major step forward in meeting the healthcare workforce needs of our region,” said Tina Gallup, dean of the School of Health Sciences. “We are thrilled to bring our high-quality nursing education to Washington County and make it more accessible to students in the surrounding communities.”

The expansion comes after a rigorous proposal and review process that began in February 2025 and concluded with final approval in August. The Board commended CCBC for providing comprehensive documentation that demonstrated:

  • Sufficient resources, faculty, and clinical partnerships to support the additional site;
  • Identical curriculum and quality standards as the Monaca campus;
  • A robust plan for student support services, including remote access to library, counseling, and financial aid resources;
  • Strategic partnerships with Trinity Area School District, St. Clair Memorial Hospital, and the Western Area Career and Technology Center for clinical and classroom learning opportunities.

CCBC is now actively promoting the new program location to residents of Washington, Greene, and Fayette Counties, and is encouraging interested students to apply now for upcoming terms or register to start general education coursework.

Faculty, staff, and administration proudly celebrated the first graduating class from the Washington County College Center this past May. Among the graduates were nursing students from the former Pittsburgh Technical College who completed their degree at CCBC, and the first Aviation High School Academy graduate. Overall, the Center served 71 new students during the spring 2025 semester.
