Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to announce Brian Pruitt, Jr., Special Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, as a recipient of the Class of 2023 New Pittsburgh Courier FAB 40 Under 40 Award. The program honors young African American men and women who have significantly contributed to the Pittsburgh community and business world.

“The Fab 40 under 40 is a great accomplishment and I’m honored to be recognized in this year’s class,” said Pruitt. “I am thankful for everyone that helped me along this path – I truly appreciate their support. This is a humbling experience for me.”

Pruitt began as Enrollment Team Lead Institutional Concierge at CCBC. He was recently promoted and now oversees academic coaching, career services, and more. Raised in Steubenville, Ohio, where he volunteered as a youth football coach, Pruitt graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Robert Morris University.

Pruitt is also a graduate of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Beaver County professional development program. He now leads the Beaver Valley Minority Student Leadership Program, a seven-month grant-funded program designed to address African American youth’s educational, economic, social, and emotional needs. It provides hands-on activities that develop cultural competency, innovation, and communication skills.

“I’m excited to see Brian recognized in the Fab 40 under 40,” said Angela Hamilton, Vice President of Student Affairs. “His accomplishments are a testament to his drive, talent, and innovative mindset. His leadership has positively impacted our campus community and students, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll achieve next.”

In its 10th year of the Fab 40 under 40 awards, the New Pittsburgh Courier continues to recognize local young African American professionals who inspire others through their vision, leadership, exceptional achievements, and participation in community service. These individuals exemplify extraordinary stature, poise, and integrity, and continue to break the mold and affect change in their professions and community. A dinner will be held on April 14 at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square to honor this year’s class.
