Focusing on Future Growth CCBC Board Extends Presidential Contract

Monaca, PA – The Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new contract for President Dr. Roger W. Davis through June 3031, recognizing his exceptional leadership, innovative vision, and deep commitment to student and community success.

“Dr. Davis has been a transformative leader for CCBC,” said Edward Palombo, Chair of the CCBC Board of Trustees. “His ability to combine creativity and vision with action has strengthened our programs, expanded our reach, and created lasting opportunities for our students and community.”

Under Dr. Davis’s leadership, CCBC has successfully experienced continued growth in enrollment, innovation, and national recognition. His tenure has been marked by:

Consistently Growing Enrollment – Strategically increased enrollment three years in a row, making CCBC the fastest growing community college in the Commonwealth.

Expanding Campus and Community Engagement – Launching initiatives such as Community Day and Bring Your Child to Work Day to inspire future learners and strengthen community connections.

Advancing Fundraising Efforts – Raising over $30 million in philanthropic support through campaigns like the President Roger W. Davis Excellence Fund and generating funding in the form of scholarships and grants, including two Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants totaling $1.2 million and a $1.7 million Build Back Better Challenge Grant to expand STEM programming.

Ensuring Institutional Progression: Leading the college community through the successful reaffirmation of its Middle States accreditation meeting all standards for the first time in 40 years.

Enhancing Academic and Workforce Programs – Establishing the Washington County College Center and partnering with the Beaver County Airport Authority in the construction of a $22 million new, state of the art Aviation Sciences Center to meet regional workforce needs.

Championing Access to Education – Establishing the Prison Education Program providing incarcerated individuals with pathways to degrees and careers and expanding both the Professional Pilot program across the state and nation as well as the Nursing program in Washington County.

Driving Data-Informed Decision Making – Championing student success and retention by working closely with faculty and staff to create the CCBC Honors Program and Titan Pathways to Success with evidence-based strategies that improve outcomes and institutional effectiveness in retention and completion.

Achieving National Recognition – Leading CCBC to earn Leader College and Leader College of Distinction status through the Achieving the Dream network, a testament to the college’s measurable gains in student success.

Partnering with Purpose – Creating college awareness within the community by serving on over a dozen corporate and non-profit boards including The Franklin Center of Beaver County, Beaver County Educational Trust, Heritage Valley Health System, Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board, Cengage Advisory Network, Remake Learning Cabinet, and the USTA Allegheny Mountain District.

“Dr. Davis prioritizes building strong pathways and adapting the programs we teach and the community partnerships we build to align with evolving industry trends and workforce demands,” stated Sarah Sudar, associate professor of English, Literature and Communications and director of the Honors Program. “He is a visionary leader who is committed to putting students first, ensuring that CCBC remains accessible and responsive to the needs of our students not only today, but well into the future.”

The extension underscores CCBC’s commitment to stability, innovation, and excellence as it continues to empower communities through education in Beaver County and beyond.

Dr. Davis expressed gratitude for the Board’s continued trust, stating, “It is an honor to serve CCBC and our community. Together, we have built momentum that is changing lives, and I look forward to continuing this important work.”

Dr. Davis earned a doctoral degree in Urban Educational Leadership from Morgan State University, a Master of Science degree in Adult Education with Honors from Coppin State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
