Program Information
The Healthcare Support Specialist Certificate provides students with a foundation in both clinical and administrative healthcare skills. Students complete core requirements in Medical Terminology, Healthcare Communications, and Patient Care Essentials. Additional electives such as Phlebotomy, Patient Billing & Insurance, Medical Coding, Nutrition, Informatics, or EKG allow students to customize their path to fit their career goals. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level employment in hospitals, labs, medical offices, and home health agencies, or may continue their education to complete a degree in Health Sciences. (minimum of 21 credits)
Program Requirements
- Minimum age: 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required immunizations and background checks for clinical activities
