Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Monit as Dean of the School of Industrial Technology and Continuing Education (ITCE). In this role, Monit will oversee corporate and industry training programs, continuing education, and advanced manufacturing initiatives that serve both students and regional workforce partners.

“Scott brings not only a strong background in leadership, but also a deep understanding of the people and communities we serve. He’s passionate about helping individuals grow through education and training, and I know he’ll be a driving force in connecting our students with real opportunities. We’re thrilled to welcome him back to CCBC,” said Dr. Shelly Moore, vice president of academic affairs at provost.

Monit brings with him a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic communications, and industry collaboration, having held executive roles at Heritage Valley Health System, PGT Trucking, LANXESS Chemicals, and most recently as President of The Brown Dog Sign Company.

As Dean, Monit will guide the strategic development and delivery of both credit and non-credit workforce training at CCBC’s Monaca campus and Washington County College Center in McMurray, PA. His leadership and community connections will play a key role in enhancing the college’s ability to provide responsive, customized training solutions, certifications and associate degree programs that align with current and future economic demands and career opportunities.

“I’m excited to return to CCBC and lead the pathways in the School of ITCE,” said Monit. “As our region continues to grow, CCBC is uniquely positioned to deliver the training, certifications, and programs needed by local industries and learners. I look forward to building on that legacy and expanding our impact on students and the community.”

CCBC’s School of ITCE houses the Shell Center for Process Technology Education, is a WednetPA partner, and received $405,050 in Build Back Better grant funds to launch a Mechatronics program.

Monit currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Supervisory Board at West-Aircomm Federal Credit Union. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Point Park University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Dayton. He resides in Beaver with his wife Lisa and is the proud father of three adult children.
