Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is expanding educational opportunities with the launch of five new academic programs beginning in Fall 2026. Designed to meet regional workforce needs, the new offerings prepare students for careers in healthcare, safety, and business through hands-on, career-focused education.
The new programs include:
- Safety Management, Associate Degree in Science (A.S.)
- Healthcare Administration: Patient Care, Associate Degree in Science (A.S.)
- Healthcare Administration: Leadership, Associate Degree of Science (A.S.)
- Sales Professional Certificate
- Healthcare Support Specialist Micro Credential
These additions reflect CCBC’s ongoing commitment to aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of students, employers, and the communities it serves.
“CCBC continues to connect learning with real opportunities in our region,” said Benjamin Stoviak, dean of the School of Professions and Transfer Studies. “Our programs are hands-on, practical, and designed with the realities of the workforce in mind. As industries change and new opportunities emerge, community colleges have an important role to play in helping people gain relevant, competitive skills.”
The Associate Degree in Science in Safety Management combines science, math, and technology with applied safety training, preparing students to assess workplace hazards, develop effective safety programs, and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations. Students earn OSHA 30 certification and build competencies needed to pursue the BCSP Associate Safety Professional (ASP®) credential after gaining one year of field experience. Through an articulation agreement with Slippery Rock University, graduates can seamlessly transfer into the university’s Bachelor of Science in Safety Management program. The median annual salary for safety professionals was approximately $78,000 in 2024.
CCBC’s new Associate Degree in Science in Healthcare Administration programs offer students specialized pathways aligned with their career goals. The Patient Care concentration focuses on healthcare operations and patient-centered services, while the Leadership concentration prepares students for supervisory and management roles within healthcare organizations. Depending on the concentration they choose, graduates are prepared for careers as office managers or healthcare administrative professionals in medical offices, clinics, and hospital outpatient settings, combining administrative expertise with practical healthcare knowledge.
The Sales Professional Certificate prepares students for careers in sales, account management, and customer success management. Students will gain skills in marketing, communication, negotiation, and the use of data analytics to inform sales strategies. This program is ideal for individuals seeking entry-level sales positions or current professionals seeking to enhance their credentials.
The Healthcare Support Specialist Micro Credential provides a fast-track pathway into the healthcare field. Students complete coursework in Medical Terminology, Healthcare Communications, and Patient Care Essentials while selecting electives such as Phlebotomy, Patient Billing and Insurance, Medical Coding, Nutrition, Informatics, or EKG to customize their educational experience.
